As a pastor, experienced nonprofit leader, accomplished organizational communications, and skilled practitioner of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, James works at the nexus of faith, social change, and organizational change. He has worked as a journalist and editor, foundation executive, advisor to elected officials, local church leader and nonprofit program director. James has worked at both the regional and national level in roles in which he organized individuals, congregations, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and others to support specific legislative initiatives as well as narrative change on issues as diverse as sentencing reform and queer justice.
More about James: With a graduate degree in American Culture Studies, James is curious about and attentive to ways in which culture and social expectations impact the behaviors of individuals and actions of organization and is energized to partner with entities looking to excavate their histories as they consider their futures. James is a coach and has experience in strategic planning, program design, campaign design, communications strategy, and organizational development. He also creates and leads workshops and trainings on race and racial justice, LGBTQIA identity and justice, faith and justice, and other topics.
